Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist with over 10 years of therapeutic experience. I grew up in the bay area and attended rigorous schools where I felt pressure to succeed and continue to strive towards the next goal. I attended St. Ignatius College Preparatory for high school and participated in theater, choir, orchestra, and many clubs all while maintaining top grades to graduate with honors. I graduated cum laude from Santa Clara University in 2011 while double majoring in English and Psychology. I then pursued a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and graduated in 2015. I have worked clinically for the past ten years supporting youth and adults to find success in their mental health journeys. I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 202 and continue to strive to learn and grow to best support clients.
I have a passion for working with teens and young adults supporting them to meet their therapeutic goals. I have worked at St. Ignatius College Preparatory since 2015 supporting student athletes as they navigate balancing a rigorous academic workload with school and club sports schedules, all while trying to find time for themselves and family and friends. I have also worked with adolescents and adults through telehealth with Daybreak Health and Two Chairs, supporting clients using short term therapy to find success quickly and improve their mental health in a focused, succinct manner. I have worked at Mercy High School in Burlingame, the YMCA Urban Services and the University of San Francisco supporting youth and young adults in school-based services.
Clinically, my approach is to meet clients where they are at and create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can become their best, authentic self. I support clients in identity formation and celebrate their identities across race, gender, sexual orientation and culture. I use an anti-racist, trauma-informed approach to actively work to dismantle systemic barriers that impact mental health. I use strength based, positive psychology to highlight client’s success and draw on their own strengths and resources to help develop resiliency skills. I use on Cognitive Behavioral therapy to work on changing behaviors and help clients develop healthy, adaptive thinking patterns. I use psychoeducation on neuroscience and teach skill-based approaches to help clients develop their own tools to understand and manage their mental health. I love celebrating my client’s success and sharing in their joys as they reach their therapeutic goals. I will be my client’s biggest cheerleader, advocate and partner and feel honored to get to do this work alongside my clients.
